A Late Winter Family Getaway at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa: A Fun and Rejuvenating Reset in Lake Geneva

Did you know that research shows investing in experiences leads to greater long-term happiness than purchasing possessions?

This has always resonated with me. I’ve consistently gravitated toward travel and shared experiences with family over material things because those are the moments that truly stay with us.

That’s one of the reasons I was so excited to head to Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for a hosted media stay with my family. We enjoyed a two-night getaway filled with beautiful accommodations, great dining, waterpark fun, and time to truly unplug and reconnect.

Here are some of the highlights.

Our Arrival

We arrived in the evening and were welcomed by an illuminated entrance and a long, winding drive that instantly set the tone for a relaxing escape.

Walking into the lobby, we were greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere, and a fun surprise offer of mimosas at check-in. It was such a thoughtful touch and immediately made the experience feel elevated and special.

Thoughtful Touches

We stayed in a junior suite with a connecting room, which was perfect for our family.

One of my favorite moments was walking in to find a handwritten note along with treats and a fruit bowl waiting for us. It’s these thoughtful details that really make a stay memorable.

The rooms were spacious, and the balcony overlooking the grounds created that instant “I’m on vacation” feeling.

Dinner Out

For our first night, we had dinner at Ristorante Brissago, located right on the property. We enjoyed a nice Italian meal in a warm, inviting setting.

The resort offers multiple dining options, including Geneva Chophouse, Grand Café, and Links Bar & Grill, so there’s something for every mood. They also offer in-room dining, which is a great option if you’re looking for a more relaxed evening.

The Geneva Club

One of the standout perks of our stay was access to the Geneva Club.

This included breakfast, snacks and drinks throughout the day, plus appetizers and desserts in the evening. It quickly became a favorite for our whole family and added an extra layer of ease and enjoyment to the experience.

Waterpark Fun

The waterpark was such a fun highlight.

We loved the waterslides, floating down the lazy river, and spending some playful time together. My husband and I especially appreciated the adults-only section with a hot tub which was a perfect balance of fun and relaxation.

Spa and Pickleball

After an active day, heading to the spa was the perfect reset. I had a massage that left me feeling completely refreshed.

We also made time for some movement which included playing pickleball at the fitness center. The resort makes it easy by providing all the equipment, and they also offer indoor tennis courts and a full fitness center.

I always appreciate when a getaway includes both relaxation and opportunities to stay active which are key elements for well-being and sustainable high performance.

The Grand Geneva offers something for every season, from skiing in the winter to golf in the summer. While we focused on enjoying the indoor amenities during this trip, I would love to come back and experience more of the outdoor activities.

What stood out most to me was how this trip made time feel slower. After just two nights, it felt like we had been away much longer, in the best way. Unplugging, being present, and spending meaningful time with my family was incredibly energizing. I left feeling refreshed, grateful, and reminded of how powerful it is to intentionally create space for experiences like this.

If you’re looking for a getaway that blends relaxation, connection, and fun, this is definitely one to consider. You can explore more about the resort on Grand Geneva Resort & Spa’s website.
